In Vivo Dosimetry

Sophisticated treatment techniques are of little value if you cannot verify the delivered dose. The best way to perform this essential verification function is to use a direct in vivo dosimetry system giving you the required information in real time. The DPD-3 system can handle a variety of treatment situations: entrance dose, exit dose, risk organ monitoring and intracavitary dosimetry in brachytherapy.

The DPD-12pc system consists of two products, the DPD-12 channel electrometer and the application software DPDpc. With twelve channels, the system is ideal for a wide variety of applications such as entrance and exit dose measurements, risk organ monitoring, TBI and intracavitary measurements in both teletherapy and brachytherapy.

For more than 30 years, Scanditronix Wellhofer has been the leader in detector technology. Refined specifications and new technology make their third generation semiconductor detectors the ideal choice for in vivo patient dosimetry. The unique high-doped p-type detectors provide dose-rate independence- both when new and after more than 10.000 measurements.

To verify that the correct dosage is given to the patient in radiotherapy, In Vivo Dosimetry is becoming more important. The "Medical Exposure Directive 97/43/Euratom" recommends to perform In Vivo Dosimetry. In several European countries In Vivo Dosimetry. Many clinics have been or are working towards an ISO certification and one important tool to ensure this is that the dose delivery is accurate.
